The primary focus of The National Space Club - Huntsville is education. Funds from sponsorships and table sales at the Von Braun Memorial Dinner and Leadership Luncheon enable NSC to promote or sponsor a number of educational programs. In addition, several scholarships are presented to deserving students each year in the North Alabama area, including students from the University of Alabama-Huntsville,  Alabama A&M University, Athens State University and Calhoun Community College. The awards are presented based upon academic excellence and target students pursuing a degree in science or engineering.
